As a childbirth educator, you will teach up to 10 expecting couples in a group setting at one or more of our Isis Maternity locations in Arlington, Needham and Brookline. Class formats include single-day, two-day classes on consecutive weekends, and week-night series (2 to 6 weeks depending on type of class). Utilizing Isis Maternity childbirth education curriculum, you will create a comfortable and safe environment for expectant parents, enabling participants to approach birth with confidence and knowledge.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Set-up and break-down of class room.
• Teach childbirth education using Isis Maternity curriculum.
• Provide supportive learning and sharing environment.
• Create opportunities for group interaction.
• Assess client needs and recommend appropriate Isis Maternity products and services.

Requirements:

• Must have a current childbirth education certification or experience as a labor & delivery nurse.
• Childbirth Education experience a plus, or willingness to train via class observation.
• Physical requirements include ability to lift, stack and unstack chairs, stand for long periods, twist and bend.

• Able to appropriately address difficult child-birth related topics and choices without judgment.
