Get away from the winter blues by dancing and playing instruments in a Kindermusik class. Registrations for the winter
Kindermusik classes are open. In Kindermusik Village, the unit Hickory, Dickory, Tickle and Bounce encourages baby’s language development through the rhythmic nature of favorite childhood nursery rhymes. Research shows that the more babies are exposed to nursery rhymes and songs, the stronger those emerging language skills will be, which is why Mother Goose-like stories and rhymes are the main theme of this unit. Basic American Sign Language is sprinkled throughout the unit which offers parents a new way to communicate with babies before the latter is ready to talk. Fundamental music concepts of steady beat, up and down, and music modes and more are explored in songs, chants, dances, object and instrument play. The unit draws on several traditions and includes English rhymes and songs, lullabies from Sweden and Italy, the Mexican favorite La Cucaracha, and both a nursery song and a dance medley from China.
Home materials include a board book,
home CD, two art banners, and a gripper shaker for music making at home.
In Kindermusik Family Time, families will experience different elements of movement - tempo, levels, pathways, weight, and energy in the unit called Movin’ and Groovin’. Children will explore a variety of ways to move - high and low, fast
and  slow, zigzag, curvy, and more. Chug around the classroom like trains, clip-clop like horses, and roll over like puppy dogs! Home materials include a family guide to musical fun - a book full of activities and information about child development, two CDs, two den den drum instruments, Rascal the monkey hand and finger puppets, two literature books and a matching card game.Â

The units in Kindermusik change every session.  Registrations for the next Kindermusik Village and Family Time sessions are open! In the first Fall Village unit, “Zoom Buggy,” we chug, swoosh and vroom to the theme of being on the go.
The next unit, “Dream Pillow,” brings images of rocking, cuddling, singing, and lulling to sleep. But
leading up to sleepy time are many upbeat and playful activities. Babies and adults will swirl to a dreamy cloud dance “Met Me Tonight in Dreamland.” They will also play baby appropriate instruments to “Aiken Drum” and “Sarasponda.” Favorite nursery rhymes like “Wee Willie Winkie,” and “Diddle, Diddle, Dumpling” are sprinkled throughout the classes. It’s easy to weave many of the class songs and activities into your families’ daily routines. To enjoy music-making at home, every family receives a set of home materials which include a board book titled ” Dream Pillow Lullaby” that calms and relaxes babies, a home CD of the songs heard in class, two art banners, and a star bell instrument.
The unit in Kindermusik Family Time after “Here, There, Everywhere” is “Movin’ and
Groovin’.” In this unit, families will experience different elements of movement - tempo, levels, pathways, weight, and energy. Children will explore a variety of ways to move -Â high and low, fast and slow, zigzag, curvy, and more. Chug around the classroom like trains, clip-clop like horses, and roll over like puppy dogs! Home materials include a family guide to musical fun - a book full of activities and information about child development, two CDs, two den den drum instruments, two literature books and a matching card game.
