ISIS MATERNITY’S AWARD-WINNING RETAIL TEAM
PUBLISHES BUYING TIPS FOR PARENTS GEARING UP FOR THE HOLIDAY SHOPPING SEASON
In the wake of product recalls for children’s products such as toys,
Isis Maternity continues its commitment to helping families create
healthy and safe environments by providing tips for
evaluating children’s gifts and products.
Needham, Mass., November 2007 - Isis Maternity’s award-winning retail team is pleased to announce the publication of their Buying Tips for Parents on the Isis Maternity web site (http://www.isismaternity.com/products/buyingtips). Together with this year’s Isis Maternity Top Retail Picks lists, the Buying Tips for Parents offers parents and extended family members great ideas for finding safe toys and products this holiday season.
The tips expand the Isis Maternity retail group’s long-standing efforts to provide safe and healthy environments for young families, in the wake of many children’s toy and product recalls over recent months.
“We know how overwhelmed parents can feel by all the recent news about the safety of children’s products,” Director of Retail Lee Courtemanche said. “The Buying Tips can give parents much-needed guidelines to find safe, appropriate toys and gifts for their children.”
The Buying Tips for Parents includes:
- Do your homework and investigate products, their manufacturers, and their history of recalls.
- Shop from a reputable retailer. Isis Maternity’s 2007 Safe and Sound List can help reassure parents that the toys carried in Isis Maternity centers are safe. This includes statements from the toy manufacturers available in the stores.
- Read labels for age warnings and safety certifications.
- Buy the best available within your budget by looking for quality design and construction.  While higher quality can mean a higher price, buying fewer products of better quality is often a safer choice.
This year’s Top Picks list by Isis Maternity includes the Safe and Sound category, which aims to provide information about the latest developments in organic and eco-friendly products. It also includes the Isis Maternity 2007 Holiday Gift List, which shows off new products that are must-have items for families with infants and young children.
Products from the Top Picks list will be available through Isis Maternity’s three retail stores, located in the company’s centers in Arlington, Brookline and Needham. Isis Maternity offers several categories of products, including breastfeeding; nursingwear; nursery furniture; infant clothing and shoes; diaper bags; maternity and nursing pillows; safety equipment; body care products; developmental toys; feeding; baby accessories; and music and books.
