ISIS MATERNITY CELEBRATES ITS SECOND ANNUAL MASSAGE MONTH!

Pregnant and new moms can indulge for the month of October in a variety of fun promotions, from free “mini” massages to program discounts!

Needham, Mass., September 2007 - Pregnant and new moms looking for ways to relax and reinvigorate can enjoy Isis Maternity’s second annual Massage Month, which takes place in October!

Isis Maternity, New England’s largest provider of prenatal and postpartum health education and wellness services, is offering special discounts for its massage services, including a $5 coupon for first-time massage clients and a $10 coupon for anyone interested in a Massage Pass. The pass allows users to buy three massages and get a fourth at half price. Isis Maternity members get an additional 10 percent off.

Mama Mio, a maker of maternity skin-care products, is also joining in the fun by offering a free gift with every massage purchase.

Expecting parents also will want to hear Nancy Wainer, a certified professional midwife and award-winning author who coined the internationally known term, “VBAC,” or vaginal birth after cesarean. She will be giving a presentation entitled, “Heads Down, Facing Birth!  - Reducing Fear, Staying Safe, and Creating a Fabulous Birth,” which will teach expecting parents steps on how to reduce anxiety and stress during pregnancy, improve prenatal care and lower their risk of a cesarean. This presentation, part of Isis Maternity’s Expert Speaker Series, will take place in the Needham center on Oct. 20th from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Most importantly, moms and their partners can indulge in free 10-minute “mini” massages, and participate in classes that teach techniques for easing prenatal and postpartum aches and pains.

Massage therapy can be an integral part of prenatal and postpartum care by offering relief from muscular strain, especially in the lower back and hips; reducing stress and tension; enhancing body awareness for better posture; and decreasing swelling and edema that can be caused by pregnancy. Following a massage session, women often report feeling calm and relaxed while simultaneously experiencing a renewed energy.

As part of its services, Isis Maternity provides massage sessions by massage therapists who are specially trained and certified in prenatal and postpartum techniques. Shiatsu treatments also are offered. Appointments are available seven days a week, including nights and weekends.

More details about Massage Month’s events and promotions, as well as the dates and times of Isis Maternity classes at its centers in Arlington, Brookline and Needham can be found on the company’s Web site at www.isismaternity.com or by calling (781) 429-1500.
