ISIS MATERNITY EXPANDS NATURAL CHILDBIRTH EDUCATION PROGRAM BY OFFERING SIX-WEEK COURSE IN ARLINGTON
The series aims to provide pregnant women with more opportunities to practice natural-labor techniques such as breathing and relaxation in a supportive, community setting.
Needham, Mass., September 2007 - Isis Maternity, New England’s largest provider of prenatal and postpartum health education and wellness services, is expanding its natural childbirth education program by offering a six-week course in Arlington.The series of classes is designed for those women who are interested in exploring the option of an unmedicated birth. The course provides information about the process of birth, and teaches a variety of relaxation and visualization exercises, as well as coping techniques and comfort measures, to help women prepare for natural labor. The program will also discuss medical pain relief options, and will help women prepare for unexpected situations and Caesarian births, as part of Isis Maternity’s commitment to providing comprehensive information on this important process.
The extended series starts in Isis Maternity’s Arlington center, located at 397 Massachusetts Ave., on Tuesday, Sept. 18th. The six-week program also is offered at the company’s center in Brookline. Isis Maternity suggests that women take this class around the fifth or sixth month of pregnancy to allow time to practice the techniques throughout the remainder of their pregnancy.
Pregnant moms and their partners also have the option of signing up for Isis Maternity’s Prepared Parent Program, a package of classes that include Childbirth Education, Breastfeeding Basics, Infant CPR & Newborn Essentials.
