Elizabeth "Johnny" J.

Elizabeth "Johnny" Johnson recently returned to her hometown of Boston after completing her BA in Dance Performance at Oberlin College. The daughter of two theater technicians, Johnny grew up backstage at the Opera Company of Boston and the Boston Ballet, where her love for music, theater and dance was first fostered. In Oberlin, Ohio, Johnny became notorious as "The Ringmaster" - known for founding and directing the local student-and-community circus. Johnny's own circus skills lie in partner balancing, stilting and hula hooping, and she has taught these skills along with juggling, jump rope, tumbling, card tricks and clowning at a Jamaica Plain summer camp for the last two summers. Johnny has also taught Contact Improvisation, Bodywork, and a mother-daughter yoga class. She is certified in Swedish massage and Vibrational Healing Massage Therapy, and strongly believes that positive touch and movement are integral to the joyous and healthy development of people of all ages.
